ect.
Btw. the new Rammstein CD is out. If you like this Band get it because it's a great album :)
By request but also I wanted to post this album long time ago. 1984s album Computervoice from German composer Robert Schroeder is a very good electronic album and quite an example from that time. Catchy sequences and nice melodies this is I think Schroeders most known album. Enjoy
After the mistake from last week today a "really" new post :) This was Mark Isham's first solo album. It is from 1983. Mark Isham is an american Trumpeter, synthesist who is now mainly into Soundtrack Music. This early record from him is very ambient and quiet even has some jazz influence.
This is a library record released back in 1982 by Rouge Music. Produced by John Hyde. Some nice electronic tunes. Aparently composed for Water and Ambient Scenes. The thing with these Library records is that they dont have much info about the composer if he is not famous in other areas, for example like Mark Shreeve who released also some library records. Originally posted by Phylips from the dead Painted on Silence Blog. Interesting so I reposted it here.
that was release back in 1980 by Vertigo. It contains tracks from the first 4 albums of Kraftwerk even though Autobahn was heavily cut from 22min to 3 min... it's a nice introduction to their early work.
Here we have the 3rd album from NEU! released back in 1975. The duo Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother both played with Kraftwerk in their early years. Very nice introduction to their work and also their most accesible album apart from their 4 th album that was released 20 years later. Klaus Dinger unfortunatly dies last year. He also created the Krautrock group La Duesseldorf.
And the third one for today. Harmonia is (or was) basically Cluster together wich Michael Rother. Easy melodies with fun texts (Immer wieder rauf und runter, Always going up and down) ect. You will hear similarity to Neu. but that was the time (70s). Deluxe was also released back in 1975.
This concert album from greek composer Yanni is a nice introduction to his work. Even though that is not your average Electronic music album because he used an Symphonic Orchestra to play with him, I really like Yanni's music. He has some beautiful melodies and optimistic tunes. Originally he started releasing music in the 80's on Peter Baumann's Private Music Label, his first album dates back to 1984 (Optimystique)
Recorded back in 1974 and released 1975 this is another trance like release from Goettsching. 3 long tracks only played by guitar if you believe or not. Of course with some effect equipment. This sound more like TD or Schulze synthesizer compositions than anything played on a guitar. Enjoy this little masterpiece.
And another post from me today. This time from master Klaus Schulze (funny that this is my first solo post from him). A promotion CD single for Alesis at the Frankfurt music fair, March 2003. Limited Edition of 300 copies. Most of them were given away for free to visitors of the Alesis booth at the fair, while KS was signing the CD. If you like KS you will like this one :)
Keyboarder Rald Wadephul (Ex-Tangerine Dream) released this great album last year. It contains several re-mixed versions from TD tracks he co-wrote with Edgar Froese during the 1988 concert Tour in North America.
Jeje, at last a new post from me after 7 month of nothing new here, I am sorry but I had the Blog Burned out sindrome :) Hopefully I will recover soon and post more music here . Please report me any broken links you discover, I will try to repost them soon.
This album was just released today. It is from Atom aka (Señor Coconut) aka Uwe Schmidt. And I must say a very interesting but quite experimental experience. Some tracks were co composed with Florian Schneider (who recently left Kraftwerk). And if you listen to the album you can tell why. This one could fit easily between Kraftwerks Kraftwerk 2 and the Ralf & Florian albums.
Hermeneutic Music was the first album by Propeller Island( Lars Stroschen), who is a Multimedia Artist from Berlin. It was released in 1988 (man thats already 20 years ago !!) and contains a lot of different sample recordings he made during his travels. This is not your normal electronic sample/sequence album. It is more like a soundtrackscore. I felt directly in love with the album back in 1988. So here another 80s gem that was released on the Erdenklang label.
At last something new here on the Blog and quite interesting too :)
I listening to this album several days now I it is beginning to grow on me. Lot's of Fairlight CSI Sounds and vocal samples. It is their interpretation of Jesus Sermon on the Mountain. Unfortunatly in German but a very interesting work.
It's getting harder to find real interesting stuff out there for you, but I think you might like this french composer. He actually is a bass player, Composer, Arranger, Session Musician who played and composed unnumbered amount of Tracks and albums. He also was very succesful with the french space Disco Band Arpadys in 1979.
ISNESS
DEAD CITIES
ALICE IN ULTRALAND
A private release from a Berlin School like group, founded by two guys from Germany.
This album from the Dutch electronic group Free System Project is an absolutly must have. To my shame I have to admit I never heard of them until recently but I am a big fan already, you can buy ALL their albums with closed eyes. The sound is Berlin School TD, KS 70s like but trimmed to perfection. This album was from 1996 and re-released in 1999.
And because I got so many great albums lately here Wally Badarous last solo album. It was a limited edition and is now out of print. Great tunes, more african sound like, the typical Badarou Style even some Reggae Style. Very nice album.••• Let me make it very clear: "Colors Of Silence" was NOT my third instrumental album. Its limited edition already spoke against the idea. As suggested by the subtitle ("Musical Poetry For Yoga"), it was to be viewed as a soundtrack album first, and a conceptual 'demo' compilation album second. As minimalistic as it may sound (to some of my fans delight), it was not 'written' to be the type of album I've been known for, in any way. As always with of my demos, I'd be the only one to tell what will be retained for the final versions, out of the melody line, the chord changes, the atmosphere, the rhythmn, etc. Guess what 'Amber Whispers' could sound like at the end ...
Here we have an interesting album from 2 Ex Tangerine Dream members. Peter Baumann and Paul Haslinger teamed up on this 1992 album. It was planned to be released on the Private Music Label, but in the end never was. Unfortunatly this also was Peter Baumanns last musical release (at last to what I know).
Here another Wally Badarou album from 1984. Echoes was quite succesful. If you don't know who he was read the info in the first Badarou post on this page.
ese two albums are absoluty fantastic. Hope you get it.

As requested the 2nd Volume from Software. Past Present Future.
I am listening to these albums lately a lot and I thought you might also be interested in them.
The second album
The third album:
I leave the explication to pitchfork.com:
Software first album from 1985. (This is the CD release which contained 3 additional Tracks). Enjoy (and leave a short comment, please :) )
This was Gandalfs first album from 1981. A lot more traditional instruments then his later works. Absolutly great album from the austrian new age wiz.
Another German Group. Software was Peter Mergener and Michael Weisser and during the 80s they released a lot of albums together.
This was the first album from Danish composer Klaus Schonning who until shortly I never heard of. A friend of mine recommended me this album. And he was right this 1979 album sounds like an interesting mix between a beginning New Age, Electronic Kraut Rock album. Nicely done.
This is probably Peter Baumann's best solo album. Trans Harmonic Nights (1979) features straight forward electronic music (even today it sounds actual). Unfortunatly after this he startet with Disco Music, which in my opinion was a waste. But in 1978 he released under a Pseudonym the Pseudo Disco album "Leda - Welcome to Joyland" very interesting Electronic/Pop/Disco Mix with a lot of TD Sounds.
Another German Composer Wolfgang Riechmann from Duesseldorf. For sure no one outside Germany will know this one. He even played with Wolfgang Fluer (Ex-Kraftwerk) and Michael Rother (Solo Artist) in a Band back in the 60s. This album was released in 1978, unfortunatly he himself was killed 4 days before the official release of his own record in a burglar.
Ex TD member Michael Hoenig released this very TD close albumin 1978. He is now busy with soundtracks. If you like the seventies TD albums you will like this one.
Great Album from Michael Shrieve and Klaus Schulze. Released back in 1986. Expect Klaus Schulze Sequences with Jazz tunes. Very interesting mix.
Mark Shreeves first album from 1980. Interesting album ... seems like a mix
Another release from David van Tiegham. This is the 1987 release Safety in Numbers released by Peter Baumanns label Private Music.
Absolutly great downtempo album by the english group Heights of Abraham. Just Right for your rainy saturday afternoons :) This one was from 1993. Get it while it last :)
Ok, here another single from TD for the German Television Series TATORT. It was just released as a normal 7" single. The 2 themes were just cover versions of there in this time released LP Versions. (White Eagle, Hyperborea ect.)
A very relaxed electronic album from the German Group Megabyte that actually was a Pseudonym from Thilo Rex. Very nice tunes from 1987. It was released by the Master Klaus Schulze's record label IC. Enjoy
This was JS first solo album after he left Tangerine Dream (1987). Wuivend Riet means "Bowing grass" in Netherlands. Still one of his best albums.
By request and even this is more for my Soundtrackblog, 4 great tracks from Tangerine Dream from 1983 for a German Television Series Tatort (Crimescene). The Main Title (Das Maedchen auf der Treppe) is a remix from White Eagle.
Free lance percussionist and drummer David van Tieghem released in 1989 his third solo album Strange Cargo. It was released by Peter Baumann's Private Music Label. Another interesting album for you today.

A great electronic album from 1989 when the synthesizers were actually synthesizers and not some software progs so called VST's :). Very rythmic a lot of percussions and drums. Highly recommended.
